Learn to protect your kids online

I am a mum of two and until recently I knew very little about the Internet and what I did know concerned me. I knew that i needed to let my children use the web as its so important to their development and IT skills. So I had to find away to keep things safe and under control. Just to give you some info on my kids I have two Sally who is six and Sam who is fifteen. Sam is really into computers and has his own lap top which he uses in his room where as Sally has only just started to use the web and accesses it on our main PC.

So anyway back to the point, I began my quest for information about protecting my children on the Internet ironically enough on the Internet. I found loads of great advice which now seems rather simple. The first and possibly best advice I found was to set out clear rules as to when and how the net can be used. The second tip was about where the computer is kept and operated, this tip said that the computer should always be kept in full view. This idea made a lot of sense but I couldn’t really takes Sam lap top from him after letting him have it for years. However it was the third piece of advice that I found really useful. The site I was on recommended two bits of software PC Tattle Tale and Net Nanny. The first bit of software PC Tattle Tale was just the trick for keeping close tabs on Sam as it monitors and records everything a child does on the net without the child knowing. The Second product Net Nanny was perfect for Sally as it blocks harmful conten. I purchased them both and now I can rest easy knowing that my kids are safe online.
